Tuija Lindström was one of Sweden's foremost photographic artists and was highly influential in Finland as well. This is the second of two books covering her work from 1980 onwards. Many of the images in the book carry on chronologically from where the last book left off, giving an overview of her production from the start of the 1990s to the 2000s. The themes of beauty and death, life and humanity, are at the heart of the works. The artist approaches these subjects in her powerful and direct, yet tangibly sensitive style.
Tuija Lindström was born in 1950 in Finland and passed away in Stockholm in 2017. Between 1992 and 2002 Tuija Lindström was Sweden's first female professor in photography at the School of Photography and Film at the University of Gothenburg. The book In The Beginning There Was Everything was published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki.
