Birch Sunshine Recorder is a sculpture consisting of a crystal ball placed in a blackened piece of a birch trunk. Inside the wood, a ray of sunshine has been burned, representing the artists' long collaboration. A Sunshine Recorder is an analog tool used by meteorologists to record hours of sunshine per day. When the sun is up and moves in the sky, its rays are concentrated in the crystal ball, which burns a trajectory of the sun's passage into the wood.
